JUNE 2020

ABout
Pepite Sexiste is a french association that raises awareness on sexist marketing. It has 3 branches (US, Mexico and Mauritius). In 2020, French UN Women invited several association to campaign about equality in future generations. As a member of the association, I designed a serie of illustration for this project that fights for equal rights.

Pépite sexiste challenged people to expose stereotypes with images, drawings, memes or videos through a facebook event called #Pépite Challenge, where all contribution will be then re-shared . We started the event by posting every hour one of my illustration.

The process
Each illustration exposes one or several stereotypes, to highlight the new ways of thinking about gender roles. It was also very important for us to display diversity through the character design.

Once the illustrations were inked, I used the UN women template’s colours in order to create unity between every design.

final edit
Below is the full poster design, including the 8 illustrations. The building is lightly tinted of the same colours used in the drawings.

To set an example, Pepite Sexiste called on cartoonist Eleonore Bem, aka @eledraws, to illustrate eight of them. Here are her sensitive and accurate drawings:
